Rachel Rico, CPA, CCIFP
Rachel Rico is a partner in HMWC CPAs & Business Advisors’ Business Assurance Services department, providing financial statement audits, reviews, and compilations, and consulting on business issues and identified risks. She also has experience in employee benefit plan audits.
Rachel also helps many clients with a range of Business Advisory Services. She typically advises clients on business projections, tax planning, and cash flow management. She has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, representing both buyers and sellers, typically involving tax consequences and succession planning.
Rachel’s industry experience includes construction, franchisors, manufacturing and distribution, service, and not-for-profit. Construction companies value her expertise in bid rate analysis, overhead analysis, and working with attorneys, banks, surety brokers, and bonding agents. Rachel’s work with franchisors has included auditing franchisees, tax efficient planning, and providing financial statements for state filing requirements. A significant aspect of her work with manufacturing and distribution companies involves inventory issues and cost accounting. Her assistance to not-forprofit organizations includes interfacing with audit committees and requirements for financial statement reporting.
Rachel began her career with a regional accounting firm where she spent 22 years gaining a breadth of experience in assurance and tax matters. She served as a partner for over 10 years and joined HMWC as a partner in 2017. Rachel has conducted seminars on accounting, auditing, and related subjects.
Rachel earned her B.A. in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from California State University, Fullerton. She is a Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional, which includes expertise in accounting and reporting, tax matters, and surety issues.
