Barbara Kelley is a partner in HMWC CPAs & Business Advisors’ Tax Services department, providing tax preparation, planning and projection services for corporations, partnerships and individuals.

Barbara has extensive experience assisting clients in the navigation of the complex rules of taxation to ensure that the minimum required amount of taxes are paid. Barbara focuses on the areas of taxation and management of real estate assets, investment entities, accounting and taxation for businesses and individuals, business advisory services, family-owned businesses, entity selection and the implementation of complex estate and wealth protection planning. Barbara’s commitment to her clients is demonstrated by her holistic approach to client service, where all factors of a client’s financial spectrum are considering during a decision-making process.

Barbara has been practicing public accounting in the Orange County area for thirty years, including experience at Deloitte and Moss Adams. Prior to joining HMWC, she owned a boutique CPA firm specializing in serving clients involved in the real estate industry, as well as family-owned businesses and wealthy individuals. The firm’s services included real estate taxation, accounting and taxation for businesses and individuals, business advisory services, entity selection and complex estate and wealth protection planning. In 2018, she joined HMWC as a partner.

Barbara earned her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from California State University, Fullerton. She received her Master of Taxation from Golden Gate University.

Professional & Community Involvement
Barbara is a member of the California Society of CPAs, American Institute of CPAs, Women in Commercial Real Estate (CREW) and a board member of the California State University Fullerton Accounting Department Advisory Board and the Orange County Estate Planning Council Board. She is also involved in the community through her volunteer work with 44 Women for Orangewood, Share Our Strength, and as an officer of the Orange County Women’s Sailing Association. In her free time, Barbara enjoys sailing, skiing and hiking.
