The County of Orange announced yesterday the launching of the Orange County Workforce Development Board’s (OCWDB) COVID-19 Layoff Aversion Support Program. The OCWDB received $700,000 in funds from the California Employment Development Board (EDD) to support local small businesses impacted by COVID-19.
Through the program, eligible businesses can receive up to $10,000 in grant funds, intended to help local small businesses mitigate layoffs and adhere to “social distancing” provisions established by state and federal public health entities.
Businesses will need to submit an online application to be considered for the grant. Click here for application, eligibility, and program details.
IMPORTANT: Applications will be open beginning Thursday, May 21, 2020 at 9 a.m. and will close on May 28, 2020 at 5:00 p.m., or when 170 applications are received, whichever comes first. Applications will be processed on a first come first served basis until all available funds have been committed.
