Gary Strout, CPA

Gary Strout is a Manager in HMWC CPAs & Business Advisors’ Tax Services department, providing tax preparation, planning and projection services for corporations, partnerships and individuals. Gary has over fifteen years experience in taxation, accounting and auditing. He has significant expertise in multi-state returns and complex tax planning for high net worth clients and large closely-held corporations.

In addition, Gary has worked on special investigations, accounting and litigation support and special reviews. He also has experience in corporate accounting, auditing a major manufacturer and designer of motion and control technologies and systems.

Experience
After graduation, Gary worked in positions at local accounting firms for several years before accepting a position as a senior internal auditor for a publicly-held company, where he performed internal control audits, due diligence for new acquisitions, implementation reviews, and other special projects, including fraud reviews, accounting support, and efficiency reviews.

In 2002, Gary joined HMWC as a senior accountant in the Accounting & Audit department and transferred to the Tax Services department in 2006. He was promoted to tax manager in 2008.

Education
Gary received his B.A. in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from California State University, Fullerton.

Gary is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants, and a past member of the Institute of Internal Auditors.
