Dean Coyle, CPA

Dean Coyle is a tax manager in HMWC CPAs & Business Advisors’ Tax Services department with over twenty-five years of experience in public accounting.  He provides tax preparation, planning and projection services to corporations, partnerships, individuals, trusts and estates. His work involves effective diagnosis, solution, development and implementation of clients’ tax planning and compliance needs, including tax minimization strategies, court accounting, estate tax preparation and estate sub trust funding. Further, since tax laws can be very complex, Dean keeps current on tax rulings that may impact our clients’ tax position.

Experience
After graduation, Dean joined Coopers & Lybrand and worked with both their San Francisco and Oakland offices. After he completed his CPA audit requirement with Coopers & Lybrand, he began his specialization in tax which included tax preparation, review, planning and consulting for two smaller firms. In 1992, he founded a public accounting firm in Petaluma, California. Over the next nine years, Dean was managing partner of the firm, and along with his partner, grew the business to approximately 500 clients. After selling the practice in 2001, he continued to work with the acquiring company for the next year and a half and then joined HMWC in 2002. Dean worked part-time for HMWC until 2008 when he accepted a full-time tax manager position.

Education
Dean received his B.A. in Management (emphasis in Accounting) from Sonoma State University in 1984, graduating “with distinction.”

Dean is a member of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CalCPA) and CalCPA’s Orange County Estate Planning Interest Group.
